Alongside our experiments, we develop open-source software for modelling and understanding quantum spin systems on surfaces. These tools are freely available to the community — contributions and feedback are welcome.

Spinfinity

Python package for simulating quantum spin systems in tunnel junction experiments.

Spinfinity models spin structures in double-barrier tunnel junctions, solves their spin Hamiltonians, and simulates observables that can be compared directly to experimental spectroscopy data. Typical use cases include building single- and multi-spin systems, computing eigenenergies and eigenstates, simulating tunneling-induced transition rates and steady-state populations, generating differential-conductance spectra, and computing electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra and related driven dynamics.
